Balcony Garden
I designed this balcony garden for a gardener who had recently moved from a house to an apartment. The primary goal was to create a colorful space with flowers, herbs, and vegetables where the client could relax and enjoy the view. Their secondary goal was to attract pollinators like bees and small birds. I started by filling the front third of the large balcony patio with multicolored pots in various sizes and heights. Then we added a few solar powered lights as well as strand lights on a timer. Last, I installed a suet and mesh seed feeder for small birds. Despite being on the fifth floor, it wasn't long before Goldfinches and bumble bees frequented the space.
